Chairman Mast Issues Statement on Russia Violating Polish Airspace

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast issued the following statement in response to Russia's violation of Polish airspace:
"Last night was a clear and purposeful attack by Russia against Poland and in turn NATO. What would be the logic behind this? I believe its design was to test our resolve to respond, a calculation by Putin that response will be no more than an Article 4 consultation—talk among NATO members—and that Putin will play the card he always does, if NATO threatens a response: he will nuclear saber rattle and claim that he would consider any response to his attack an act of war. The U.S. and our allies should not fall for it."
