"Poland informed its NATO Allies today about the violation of its airspace by armed Russian drones.
Russia has endangered lives in a country that is both a NATO and an EU member. This reckless conduct forms part of a long series of provocations in the Baltic Sea region and at NATO's eastern flank.
The German Government condemns this aggressive action by Russia in the strongest possible terms.
It is good that Poland, alongside NATO Allies, was able to identify and dispel this threat in time. At Poland's request, the North Atlantic Council discussed Russia's actions under Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty today.
NATO is and will remain ready to defend itself."
