MANILA -- Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. will reiterate the Philippines' call for c stability amid intensifying geopolitical rivalries when he delivers remarks at the opening plenary of the Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) 2025 in South Korea.
The Department of National Defense (DND) said Sunday that Teodoro is set to speak at Plenary Session 1, "Mitigating Geopolitical Rivalries and Restoring Strategic Stability," as part of the annual multilateral forum hosted by the Republic of Korea's Ministry of National Defense.
Teodoro will also represent the Philippines at the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Command, highlighting the country's role as one of the original troop-contributing nations during the Korean War.
On the sidelines, the Defense chief and senior DND officials will engage in bilateral meetings with counterparts from various countries to discuss enhanced defense cooperation and responses to regional and global security challenges.
The DND said the Philippines' participation in both events reaffirms its commitment to a rules-based international order and its resolve to foster peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to expand defense engagements.(With Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
