Tehran, IRNA -- The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces says the country's missile unit has fired two ballistic missiles toward Israeli targets in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced the execution of a precision dual missile operation targeting sensitive sites in the occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv) region, Yemen's Al-Masirah TV network reported on Wednesday.

Saree said the operation involved two ballistic missiles, Palestine-2 and Zolfiqar, which successfully struck key targets, causing panic among Israeli settlers and disrupting operations at Ben Gurion Airport.

The missile strikes were described as both a response to Israeli crimes in Gaza and an initial retaliation for the recent Israeli aggression against Yemen, a reference to the regime's assassination of Prime Minister Ahmad Ghaleb al-Rahwi and several of his cabinet colleagues.

The missile strikes came a day after the Yemeni army announced four operations using drones against Israeli targets in the occupied territories.

Over the past months, Yemen has launched missiles and drones toward positions inside Israeli-occupied territories, including Tel Aviv and Eilat Port, in response to the regime's ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza.

Anti-Israel operations continued even after the regime launched attacks on Yemeni soil. The Arab nation has repeatedly said its operations will continue until the bloodshed of the Palestinians stops and the siege of Gaza is lifted.
