Tehran, IRNA -- Yemen's prime minister and several cabinet ministers have been killed in an Israeli strike on Thursday, the prime minister's office said in a statement.
The office announced the martyrdom of Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi and a number of his ministerial colleagues, saying they were targeted during a government workshop reviewing a year of work.
"Several ministers were wounded with moderate and serious injuries as a result of the Israeli aggression and are under medical care," the statement added.
The office pledged the government would continue to carry out its duties, and reaffirmed Yemen's support for Palestinians in Gaza.
Al-Rahawi had served as prime minister to the Ansarullah-led government since August 2024.
Yemen's Supreme Political Council appointed Mohammed Ahmed Ahmed Miftah as the caretaker prime minister on Saturday.
