Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the terrorist attacks in Colombia

On August 21, terrorist attacks took place in the departments of Valle del Cauca and Antioquia, Colombia, resulting in the deaths of National Police officers and civilians, and leaving dozens of people injured. We express our solidarity with the Government and people of Colombia in connection with this tragedy, and extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
We regard terrorism as one of the most serious threats of our time and call on all to renounce such methods of struggle. We are confident that the organisers and perpetrators of these heinous crimes in Colombia will face severe punishment.
The Russian Federation will continue to support the peace process in Colombia as part of international efforts under the auspices of the UN Security Council, doing this in the interests of an early and full termination of the years-long internal armed conflict and the country's return to peaceful life and prosperity.
