New training facilities at the Nowa Dęba - Lipa training grounds
Poland - Ministry of National Defence
22.08.2025
I have familiarised myself the effect of the efforts and decisions made by me and our partners from Norway, to place a training facility built by our Norwegian allies on a part of the Land Forces Training Grounds in Nowa Dęba-Lipa. Today, we are at the training ground where we are building training facilities, for both Polish and Ukrainian troops. It is a mission that Norway has decided to undertake together with Poland, within the NATO framework. This is also our philosophy - we want to support Ukraine from the Polish territory - deputy prime minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said after the conclusion of an information briefing.
On 22 August, the minister of national defence has met with soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces and Norwegian troops currently present at the Nowa Dęba - Lipa training grounds.
We are in NATO together, we are working together. American troops and soldiers from the Czech Republic are also present at the Nowa Dęba-Lipa training ground. All that makes Poland one of the strongest centres for the Alliance and can count on the support of those who are in NATO together with us. NATO means solidarity. The word "solidarity" has special meaning in Poland. Norway passed a test of solidarity and brotherhood. This year, I have visited Norwegian soldiers in Krzesiny, where F-35s have been defending the Polish sky. A few weeks ago, I was at the airport in Jasionka together with the minister of defence of Norway, where I had the opportunity to talk to those, who defend the airport with their air defence, anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems. This partnership with Norway brings positive results. On 14 July the construction of a big camp - a training space - started. The works are at an advanced stage, everything will be concluded on 1 September, and the first training for Ukrainian soldiers will begin here in Poland. Of course it will not be the first in general, because training has been taking place for months, but the first one in this camp - built together with our Norwegian allies. After the conclusion of the mission to support Ukraine, this camp will be transferred for use by the Polish Armed Forces.
- The minister of national defence noted.
The deputy prime minister reminded that Poland has already trained around 30 thousand Ukrainian soldiers.
Some of these activities are conducted as part of the mission to support Ukraine led by the European Unions, and some are our bilateral relations. As you can see, our relations with Norway - which is not part of the European Union, but is a part of NATO - are very good.
- said the deputy prime minister
The minister of national defence has noted that the training infrastructure at Nowa Dęba is another example of the presence and expanding capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces stationed in Podkarpacie.
