The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has urged people around the world to take part in massive marches to denounce the ongoing campaign of genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hamas called on the masses of Arab and Islamic Ummah, and all free peoples worldwide, to actively participate in the global strike in support of Gaza on Thursday.
It sought to continue the global popular solidarity action on August 22, 23, 24 and beyond, across all capitals, cities, and squares worldwide.
The protesters are urged to raise their voices against "the continued Zionist aggression, genocide, and systematic starvation of over two million Palestinians in Gaza."
"The occupation army's plans to occupy Gaza, and the resulting aggression and displacement of more than one million people, represent a new chapter in the war of extermination," the statement read.
Hamas warned against international silence towards the crimes of Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza.
"We warn against the international silence regarding the occupation's crimes and urge the world to take urgent action to stop the massacres and starvation, and to end the aggression and siege."
Hamas also held the United States, a key backer of Israel, an accomplice in the war.
"We also call for increasing all forms of rallies and sit-ins outside Zionist and American embassies, as well as all embassies of occupation-supporting states worldwide until the Zionist aggression, siege, and starvation against our people in Gaza are stopped."
The appeal for global action comes as media outlets reported an intensification of Israeli assault on Gaza City, where residential neighborhoods are coming under some of the fiercest Israeli attacks seen in recent weeks.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, has thanked US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for imposing fresh sanctions against International Criminal Court (ICC) officials.
The ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu for war crimes in Gaza.
At least 64 Palestinians, including 19 aid seekers, have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn on Wednesday.
The Palestinian health ministry says three people have starved to death in the past day. That brings the total number of famine-related deaths in the territory to nearly 270.
The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide now exceeds 62,100, with more than 156,700 others injured.
