The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that three more Palestinians have died of malnutrition and starvation in the Gaza Strip, as Israel maintains a brutal blockade on the besieged territory.

According to the ministry's announcement on Tuesday, the latest fatalities have raised the total death toll from starvation to 266, with 122 of the victims being children.

Separately, the United Nations human rights office noted that more than 1,850 Palestinians have lost their lives while attempting to obtain food in Gaza in less than three months.

It also warned about the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza, attributing the widespread starvation to Israel's ongoing restrictions on aid.

While Israel has allowed some supplies to enter Gaza, the quantities permitted are insufficient to prevent widespread starvation, as stated by the UN human rights office spokesperson Thameen al-Kheetan during a press briefing in the Swiss city of Geneva on Tuesday.

He also stressed that the risk of starvation in Gaza is directly linked to the Israeli regime's policy of blocking humanitarian aid.

In response, Israel's military agency COGAT claimed that they invest "considerable efforts" in aid distribution to Gaza.

Hunger-related deaths in Gaza continue to soar amid the Israeli-induced famine.

On Friday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that more than 20 percent of children in Gaza are malnourished, with cases of dehydration on the rise amid Israel's genocidal war and siege.

Earlier in the month, UNICEF's deputy executive director also sounded the alarm about the situation of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, warning that it has crossed the threshold of famine.

Israel unleashed its brutal Gaza onslaught on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the Zionist entity in response to the regime's decades-long campaign of death and destruction against Palestinians.

The genocidal war has so far killed nearly 61,827 Palestinians and injured 155,275 others, mostly women and children, according to the health ministry of Gaza.

Israel has sealed all border crossings, blocking the entry of aid and further worsening Gaza's already dire humanitarian crisis since March 2, when it violated its ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
