The United Nations has reported that more than 500 Palestinian children have been killed each month since Israel escalated its bombardment of UN shelters across the besieged Gaza Strip in March.
The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday that an average of over 540 children have been killed monthly in Gaza since Israeli attacks resumed on the blockaded territory earlier this year.
The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) also warned that its shelters have become "places of death" for civilians.
"People sought protection under the UN flag only for these shelters to become a place for death, including for too many children," a statement by UNRWA read.
"No place is safe for children in Gaza," the agency said.
UNRWA called for an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression and an immediate ceasefire across the besieged Palestinian region.
The UNRWA chief, Philippe Lazzarini, recently said that more than 40,000 children had either been killed or injured in Israel's genocidal war and an all-out blockade of Gaza.
In recent months, Lazzarini has repeatedly warned that the Gaza Strip has become a "graveyard" for children.
UN agencies have warned of the devastating impact of Israel's ongoing military aggression against Gaza's children, as schools, hospitals, and homes are being relentlessly targeted by the regime.
Israel has killed more than 62,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The genocidal war has destroyed the besieged region, which is also facing a famine.
Starvation has killed at least 266 Palestinians, including 112 children, since October 2023, amid a worsening blockade and severe aid shortages.
Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former war minister, Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its war on Gaza.
