Hamas denounces UN blacklist designation

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has denounced the United Nations' decision to place the group on its blacklist, terming the move as unlawful.
In a statement carried by Arab media outlets on Friday night, Hamas lashed out at the report by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres dated August 14, which blacklisted the Palestinian group for what it called conflict-related sexual crimes.
The movement noted that the UN report is based on fabricated narratives made by the Israeli regime and lacks any legal basis or credible evidence.
Hamas added that the failure to condemn the occupiers despite documented evidence represents a serious deviation and overt politicization of UN mechanisms.
The group said that politicizing international justice undermines the credibility of the United Nations and encourages continued crimes by the perpetrators.
