Tehran, IRNA -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan have condemned the Israeli cabinet's decision to occupy Gaza City, firmly rejecting the forced displacement of Palestinians.
In a meeting on Saturday, El-Sisi and Fidan denounced the Israeli regime's decision to occupy Gaza City, emphasizing the urgent need to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
They called for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the release of both Israeli and Palestinian prisoners, and reiterated their opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians.
Also, during a joint press conference with Fidan, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty said the discussions had predominantly focused on the "humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza."
Regarding the Israeli security cabinet's decision to expand military operations in Gaza, Abdelatty said that both countries fully condemned this decision and stressed the necessity of joint efforts to pressure Israel into a withdrawal.
Both sides reaffirmed the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders.
Several other Arab and Muslim countries also condemned Israel's plan to take control of Gaza City, calling it a "dangerous escalation."
Approximately 20 Muslim countries denounced the plan as a "flagrant violation of international law" and an attempt to entrench illegal occupation while imposing a fait accompli, which is devoid of international legitimacy.
