The declaration signed at the White House by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev marks a significant milestone in the process of ending the decades-long conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
I welcome and commend the determination of both parties and the leadership role of the United States, as well as the consistent contributions of partners - including the European Union - to achieving peace in the South Caucasus. It is now important to move forward resolutely, implementing all agreed steps fully and on time.
I hope that today's agreements will create a favorable basis for the prompt signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan - the text of which was already finalized in March.
Estonia will continue to support Armenia and Azerbaijan in achieving comprehensive peace. The stability of the South Caucasus is important for the security of all of Europe.
