Iran and Egypt have called for united Islamic action to halt Israel's genocide in Gaza and attacks on Lebanon, warning of worsening humanitarian and security crises.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone conversation on Thursday night, addressing mounting regional crises and the urgent need for a response.

"In this call, both sides discussed the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza resulting from the continuation of the cruel siege of the Strip, and the regime's aggressive plans to intensify attacks and fully occupy the Gaza Strip," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a Friday statement.

The ministers emphasized that it is the responsibility of Islamic nations to act decisively to halt the "genocide" in Gaza and to ensure immediate delivery of international humanitarian assistance.

These discussions took place against the backdrop of the Israeli plan to occupy Gaza City.

Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel's military "will prepare to take control of Gaza City," according to official statements.

The United Nations has described these reports as "deeply alarming," especially given that the Gaza Strip has already endured brutal war and devastating blockades since October 2023—resulting in over 61,000 Palestinian deaths.

Restricting the entry of essential needs, the Israeli regime has created a man-made famine in Gaza where at least 197 people, including children, have died of starvation.

The Iranian and Egyptian ministers also discussed the situation in Lebanon, pointing to the importance of internal unity and cautioning against actions that could spark internal conflict.

They noted that Israel must "fully withdraw from the occupied areas in southern Lebanon" and cease its continuous assaults on the country.

In Lebanon, US-Israeli pressures are mounting for the disarmament of Hezbollah, which has been rejected by the resistance group's leaders.

Although Lebanon's cabinet endorsed the proposal's objective of centralizing the state's control over weapons, it stopped short of specifying timelines.

Hezbollah's deputy chief, Mahmoud Komati, fiercely dismissed the cabinet's stance as a "march in humiliation" and denounced any disarmament while Israeli aggression persists.

Protests erupted in Beirut after the decision was made, highlighting resistance to external pressure in the face of ongoing Israeli threats.

Meanwhile, the Israeli regime continues to violate a ceasefire with Lebanon as its latest strikes killed six people in east of the country.
