The Israeli regime is considering retribution against Britain in response to London's plan to officially recognize the State of Palestine.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer intends to formally recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.

This move is aimed at addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis as the Israeli regime escalates its genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The Times reported on Thursday that Israeli officials are evaluating potential retaliatory measures against the UK for its anticipated recognition of Palestinian statehood.

A diplomatic source, seemingly representing the Israeli regime, warned that Britain "has a lot to lose if Israel's [regime] decides to take steps in response."

The Israeli official expressed concern, stating that prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet "have cards they could play too."

One potential retaliatory action mentioned is the cessation of intelligence sharing between Israeli and British spy agencies. According to The Times, any disruption in intelligence cooperation could adversely affect both nations.

In the meantime, Netanyahu has criticized Starmer for the planned recognition of Palestinian statehood next month, alleging that the British leader is "rewarding terrorism."

However, London's stated intention to recognize the Palestinian state is primarily to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Moreover, Israel's war cabinet approved a plan on Thursday to fully occupy Gaza by the beginning of next year.

The Israeli regime's genocidal war is reportedly aimed at rendering the Palestinian territory uninhabitable, compelling its residents to flee or face dire consequences.

As of October 7, 2023, at least 61,258 Palestinians have lost their lives, and another 152,045 have been injured during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
