Air raid sirens have sounded in the Israeli-occupied territories following the launch of a ballistic missile by the Yemeni Armed Forces in retaliation for the occupying regime's genocidal war against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli media outlets, the fresh missile attack from Yemen triggered sirens in the central sector of the occupied lands as well as the occupied al-Quds early on Tuesday.

The missile attack caused widespread panic among illegal settlers, pushing hundreds of thousands of them to seek refuge in bomb shelters.

Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency response service did not report any direct injuries from the attack or impacts from debris.

The military later claimed that its anti-air missile systems "intercepted" the projectile.

The development came two days after the Yemeni military claimed responsibility for a series of airstrikes against Israeli positions, using three drones.

The Yemeni military spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said in a statement aired by al-Masirah television channel on Sunday evening that two drones targeted two military targets in the cities of Tel Aviv and Ashkelon, while the third drone struck the port town of Eilat.

Saree said the attacks were in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, adding that the Yemeni army's strikes will continue "until aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted."

In response to the escalating genocidal war on Gaza, which began in October 2023, Yemeni forces implemented a strategic maritime blockade aimed at disrupting the supply of military resources to Israel and urging the international community to address the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Simultaneously, they carried out numerous missile and drone strikes against strategic targets within the Israeli-occupied territories in solidarity with Palestinians enduring 20 months of relentless war.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have made it clear that they will not halt their operations until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.

The devastating Israeli war has resulted in the deaths of nearly 61,000 Palestinians so far, the majority of whom are women and children.
