The Yemeni army says it has struck a sensitive target deep inside the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories in retaliation for the regime's genocidal war on Gaza and incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East al-Quds.
Yemen's military spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said in a statement that the country's missile force used a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile to target Ben Gurion International Airport, located on the outskirts of the city of Lod, on Tuesday.
The statement added that the operation successfully achieved its desired objective, pushing hundreds of thousands of illegal settlers to seek refuge in bomb shelters.
"Let the enemies know that our great Yemeni nation, given its glorious history, religious culture, authentic principles, and deeply-rooted values, will continue its faith-based stance in support of the oppressed Palestinian people.
"On this path, Yemenis will remain unfazed in the face of potential threats, irrespective of how dire they might be and how severe their repercussions could be," Saree said.
He pledged that the Yemeni military will continue its retaliatory anti-Israel operations until the ongoing aggression against Gaza ceases and the tight siege on the territory is lifted completely.
According to Israeli media outlets, the fresh missile attack from Yemen triggered sirens in the central sector of the occupied lands as well as the occupied al-Quds early on Tuesday.
The missile attack caused widespread panic among illegal settlers, pushing hundreds of thousands of them to seek refuge in bomb shelters.
Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency response service did not report any direct injuries from the attack or impacts from debris.
The military later claimed that its anti-air missile systems "intercepted" the projectile.
The development came two days after the Yemeni military claimed responsibility for a series of airstrikes against Israeli positions, using three drones.
The Yemeni military spokesperson said in a statement aired by al-Masirah television channel on Sunday evening that two drones targeted two military targets in the cities of Tel Aviv and Ashkelon, while the third drone struck the port town of Eilat.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have made it clear that they will not halt their solidarity operations until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
The devastating Israeli war has resulted in the deaths of more than 61,000 Palestinians so far, the majority of whom are women and children.
