Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf says Gaza has today become a "museum of humanity's crimes" and a "laboratory for testing killing technologies," urging global action to stop the "21st-century Nazism."
Speaking at the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva on Wednesday, Qalibaf said, "Today, we have gathered in Geneva to discuss multilateralism for peace and justice, while these ideals are being deliberately and continuously undermined, and the credibility of international institutions is eroding."
He added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran was recently the target of blatant military aggression by the Israeli regime, an attack carried out with the support and backing of the United States. In these attacks, approximately 1,100 Iranian citizens were martyred."
"In these attacks, our peaceful nuclear facilities, which were under regular monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.), were targeted. The Agency did not even condemn this illegal act, thereby legitimizing the attack and putting an end to non-proliferation policies," he noted.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked act of aggression against Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists, and killing civilians.
On June 22, the United States also entered the war and bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, in a clear violation of international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (N.P.T.).
Two days later, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the illegal assault.
During his speech, Qalibaf displayed images of Israeli crimes against children in Tehran and Gaza, emphasizing, "This aggression did not occur due to the failure of diplomacy, but right in the middle of political negotiations. Iran was at the negotiating table and committed to dialogue, but it was the aggressors who overturned the table and chose another path. In response to this aggression, Iran firmly defended its land and people."
He warned, "The impunity of the Zionist regime's aggressions not only undermines the legitimacy of the international order but also sends a dangerous message for global peace, emboldening the aggressor to expand its crimes."
"The Zionist regime's aggressive act, which is a deliberate violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, was condemned by 120 countries worldwide. However, the few but bullying supporters of the Zionists prevented international bodies from taking decisive action to hold the criminal Israeli regime accountable," he added.
Referring to the institutions that should safeguard peace but remained silent in the face of aggression and occupation, Qalibaf said, "The mechanisms that should guarantee justice are instead blaming the victims and shielding the aggressors, and the structures that should remain impartial and independent have often become tools for the political exploitation of certain powers."
He emphasized: "Gaza today is a museum of humanity's crimes and a laboratory for testing killing technologies. We must not be mere spectators to the Gaza genocide; rather, we must stop the 21st-century Nazis before it is too late."
