
Special Envoy of Republic of Korea's President visits Poland

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski met in Warsaw with Park Jie-won, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea. Their talks covered the most important points of bilateral cooperation and selected issues related to the security situation in Europe and East Asia.
Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen political dialogue and to continue the Polish-Korean strategic partnership. The interlocutors discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the arms industry. Minister Radosław Sikorski emphasized the importance of South Korean investments for the development of the Polish economy, at the same time expressing the expectation of increased access for Polish food to the Republic of Korea's market. Other areas of cooperation were also discussed, such as advanced technologies related to artificial intelligence and cyberspace.
Referring to the security situation in the two countries' neighbourhoods, the Polish side expressed hope for the Republic of Korea's continued support for Ukraine as it defends its sovereignty. Minister Sikorski also stressed the importance of Poland's long-term commitment to maintaining peace and security on the Korean Peninsula through its membership of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission (NNSC).
Special Envoy Park Jie-won handed Foreign Minister Sikorski a letter from President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
