Dear President,
Thank you very much for inviting me here. The meeting today is about trade between the EU and US. Together we are the largest economies worldwide. If you look at the trade volume, it is the biggest globally with USD 1. 7 trillion among us. If you look at our markets, it is a huge market of 800 million people, if you take the United States and the European Union.
I am very much looking forward to the discussions we will have now. Our staff have done some of the heavy lifting, but now it is on us. You are known as a tough negotiator and deal maker. If we are successful, it would be the biggest trade deal either of us has ever struck.
I look forward to our meeting.
