The Yemeni armed forces have "successfully" targeted key strategic sites deep inside Israeli-occupied territories using five drones, just hours after the regime launched an attack on Yemen's Red Sea port.

In a statement on Monday, the Yemeni military said its drone unit "carried out a qualitative military operation, targeting the Lod airport (Ben Gurion airport) and another military target in the region of Yaffa, as well as the port of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) and Ramon airport, along with a vital target in the Ashdod area in occupied Palestine."

It noted that the strikes came in response to Israel's genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza, and the regime's latest attack on the Hudaydah port on the Red Sea conducted earlier in the day.

The statement stressed that Yemen's operation "successfully achieved its objectives."

Yemen is "ready to confront any hostile movements" aimed at stopping it from "fulfilling its "religious, moral, and humanitarian duty toward the oppressed Palestinian people", as it has done over the past months, the army stressed.

The statement affirmed that Yemen will continue to support the Palestinians and conduct military operations against Israel in unwavering solidarity with their struggle.

"Our operations will not stop except with the cessation of aggression against Gaza and the lifting of the siege imposed on it."

Earlier on Monday, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a senior member of the Political Bureau of Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement, warned that the country will escalate its retaliatory operations if the Israeli regime intensifies its attacks on Yemen.

Since the onset of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out numerous operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories. Yemen has also been attacking Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.

The Israeli regime's bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed at least 59,029 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
