The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has warned that the Israeli regime is starving the civilians in the Gaza Strip, including one million children.
One million Gaza children are starving to death due to the continuous Israeli blockade, UNRWA warned in a statement posted on X, stressing that "The people of Gaza are being starved."
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees once more called on the Israeli regime to lift the ongoing siege, saying, "Lift the siege: allow UNRWA to bring in food and medicines."
Since the Israeli regime launched its genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza in October 2023, the territory's Health Ministry has reported numerous cases of children dying from starvation and dehydration.
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands more are at risk of death due to widespread food insecurity and the collapse of healthcare services.
The Health Ministry warned on Sunday that 86 Palestinians, including 76 children, have died of hunger and malnutrition since the start of the war, describing the Israeli treatment of the Palestinians in Gaza as "a silent massacre."
In the last 24 hours alone, there have been 18 deaths from hunger in Gaza.
Gaza authorities blame both the Israeli regime and the international community for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip, where some 59,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed since October 2023 due to relentless bombing and the blockade, which has caused famine-like conditions.
Hamas officials, UN experts, and humanitarian aid workers say Israel is using starvation as a "weapon of war."
