RAMSTEIN, Germany -- From July 8 to 10, 2025, Allied Air Command's Mobile Training Team (MTT) deployed to Belgrade to deliver a focused course on the NATO Air Operational Planning Process (AOPP), marking another milestone in NATO's practical cooperation with the Serbian Armed Forces under the Partnership for Peace (PfP) Programme.

Hosted at the request of the Serbian Air Force, the training event offered a valuable opportunity to share NATO's structured approach to air operations planning and enhance mutual understanding through knowledge exchange and professional dialogue.

"AIRCOM Mobile Training Teams play a key role in fostering mutual dialogue and developing interoperability which are essential in building long-term trust with our partners," said Colonel Dominique Calligaris, AIRCOM A9 Chief of Staff. "By sharing NATO planning principles and learning from our counterparts, we support stronger understanding of our air forces (across the region)," he added.

In addition to delivering tailored instruction on the AOPP, the visit featured productive discussions on aviation-focused activities that support Serbia's goals under the PfP framework. These talks reinforced shared commitments and laid the groundwork for further engagement in the air domain.

This MTT event highlights NATO's ongoing dedication to strengthening cooperation with Serbia since it joined the Partnership for Peace in 2006. Through regular education and training initiatives, NATO provides partner officers and personnel with the knowledge and training necessary to effectively operate alongside Allied forces, enhancing regional security and stability.

The NATO and Serbian representatives present at the training event expressed a strong interest in continuing these collaborative efforts, underlining the importance of shared understanding and mutual trust in addressing common security challenges.
