Several United Nations agencies have issued an urgent call for international action in response to the rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip amid obstruction of aid delivery by the Israeli army.

According to U.N. sources, Israeli forces had opposed three out of eight aid plans from international organizations, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, a London-based news outlet, reported on Monday.

Stephane Dujarric, the spokesperson for the United Nations secretary-general, also announced that one in three people in Gaza have not eaten for several days, urging Israeli authorities to comply with international obligations and open all crossings to ensure the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Dujarric, particularly emphasized the urgent delivery of fuel, which he said "is the artery of hope for survival in Gaza."

Separately, Head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, once again warned about the deteriorating condition in Gaza. More than 1,500 medical staff and over 600 hungry people have been killed while desperately trying to receive food aid, he informed.

Meanwhile, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) issued fresh warning about illness and death due to the worsening malnutrition among babies in the Gaza Strip.

UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said, in her statement, that thousands of babies are deprived of proper nutrition due to severe Israeli restrictions on humanitarian aid. "Every minute is crucial to saving their lives," she wrote on her X account.

"Many mothers have been killed or are unable to breastfeed due to severe malnutrition, which puts babies at risk of death or permanent health damage," she referred to the impact of the ongoing Israeli attacks.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which is partially functioning due to Israeli attacks and lack of medical equipment, has called on the international community to intervene to save hundreds of patients who are at risk of death.

The hospital's main generator has failed and spare parts for its repair and maintenance are not available, read a statement on Monday, adding that its closure threatens to stop providing medical services to half a million people in central Gaza.

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) has repeatedly expressed its grave concern over the critical state of the health system amid Israeli bombing and shelling of hospitals.

The W.H.O. warned that the continuation of the situation could lead to a wider humanitarian catastrophe, emphasizing the urgent delivery of essential goods and food to prevent severe malnutrition in Gaza.

Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli regime continues its genocidal war against Gaza.
