More than 30 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military aggression across the besieged Gaza Strip as US President Donald Trump claims to push for a two-month-long ceasefire between Hamas and the Tel Aviv regime.
Citing sources in the war-torn territory, Al Jazeera reported that more than 30 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes and attacks across Gaza since dawn on Wednesday.
Six people were killed and ten others, mostly children, were injured in a drone strike on tents sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, according to medical sources, the report added.
Despite being declared a safe zone by Israel in December 2023, al-Mawasi has been hit by repeated Israeli strikes.
Four Palestinians, including two children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Gaza City's Tuffah neighborhood, according to a source at al-Ahli Arab Hospital speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic.
A day earlier, Israeli troops also shot dead at least seven starving Palestinians while they were waiting at an aid distribution site run by the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in central Gaza.
The developments come as Trump urged the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement on Tuesday to accept his proposed 60-day ceasefire, saying that Tel Aviv had agreed to finalize such a deal.
"Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-day CEASEFIRE," he said on his Truth Social.
Trump's push for a ceasefire comes as the US government has approved a $510 million weapons sale to the Israeli regime, reinforcing Washington's military backing as the regime's genocide in Gaza reaches its 21st month.
The sale, approved on June 30, includes over 7,000 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits - 3,845 KMU-558B/B kits for the BLU-109 bomb body, and 3,280 KMU-572 F/B kits for the MK-82 bomb body.
Additionally, the agreement covers technical support, engineering assistance, and logistics services provided by the US government.
Since October 7, 2023, when the Israeli regime began its campaign of genocide in Gaza, it has killed at least 56,647 Palestinians and wounded 134,105, according to the health ministry of Gaza.
