The Israeli military has admitted that Palestinian civilians were shot dead by soldiers at aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip.
An Israeli army spokesperson on Monday confessed that Palestinians "have been harmed" and the incidents "are under review by the competent authorities."
A report earlier this month by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Israeli soldiers were "ordered to fire at unarmed crowds near food distribution sites in Gaza, even when no threat was present."
Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed over the past month in the vicinity of areas where food was being handed out.
According to the UN, about 600 Palestinians have been killed while trying to access food under the current US-Israeli aid distribution mechanism in Gaza.
The US and Israel moved forward with the creation of a new aid distribution initiative for Gaza, namely the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), in a bid to bypass existing international aid structures.
The United Nations and aid organizations operating in Gaza say they will not cooperate with Israel and the US to establish a new "mechanism" for aid delivery. They say the plan is aimed at reinforcing control over life-sustaining items as a pressure tactic against the Palestinians.
Aid agencies say there are concerns of a full-blown famine taking hold across the blockaded Palestinian territory.
Palestinian resistance factions say Israel's US-backed aid distribution strategy in Gaza is aimed at accelerating the regime's "crime of forced displacement and ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians.
Since Monday morning, Israeli forces have killed at least 80 Palestinians across Gaza.
An attack struck the tents of displaced people in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza wounding at least 50 people.
One of Press TV's media production teams in Gaza also barely survived an attack in the same area. They had recently relocated there from Khan Yunis to escape the escalating onslaught.
The Israeli military has also intensified assaults on northern Gaza, shelling several districts and bombing at least four schools.
