MANILA -- The Palawan-based 3rd Marine Brigade formally commenced its Archipelagic Coastal Defense Continuum (ACDC) 25.3, in line with ongoing efforts to beef up the country's defensive capabilities.

The event's opening ceremonies were held at the unit's headquarters at Marine Base Rodolfo Punsalang in Barangay Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 23, the 3rd Marine Brigade said in a social media post Thursday.

"The event marked the beginning of a series of integrated training activities aiming to enhance maritime security strategies and improve operational coordination among participating units. ACDC 25.3 underscores the brigade's commitment to building a resilient and adaptive coastal defense posture in support of national security objectives," it added.

In his speech, 3rd Marine Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Antonio Mangoroban said the exercise not only enhances interoperability and readiness through training, but also deepens mutual respect and camaraderie built on shared experiences from exercises such as "Balikatan," "Kamandag," and Marine Aviation Support Activity.

Over the next three weeks, ACDC 25.3 participants will engage in a range of joint activities, from subject matter exchanges to a culminating simulated island seizure operation, expected to sharpen tactical skills, refine joint procedures, and foster stronger professional bonds.

The ACDC 25.3 serves as a critical platform for knowledge-sharing, joint planning, and mission-focused training that will empower participants to conduct more effective and unified operations throughout the Western Command's area of responsibility. (PNA)
