On June 16 - 22 NATO Air Policing Detachment in the Baltic states was alerted to intercept aircraft of the Russian Federation violating international aviation regulations in international airspace over the Baltic Sea seven times.
On June 16 fighter aircraft of the NATO Air Policing Detachment were alerted to respond to one SU-24MR and one SU-30SM flying via international airspace from mainland Russia and back. Their onboard transponders were not switched on, the crews had no pre-filed flight plans and were not maintaining communication with the regional air traffic control centre. NATO fighter aircraft also intercepted one TU-134 flying through international airspace from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. Its onboard transponder was switched on, the crew had no flight plan, but maintained radio communication with the regional air traffic control.
On June 17 NATTO air policing aircraft were scrambled to identify and escort one TU-142 and two SU-30 flying through international airspace from and back to locations in mainland Russia. Their onboard transponders were switched off, no flight plans had been pre-filed, the crews were not keeping radio contact.
On June 17 NATO fighter jets also intercepted one TU-134 flying between mainland Russia and Kaliningrad via international airspace. Its onboard transponder was switched off, the crew had no flight plan, though radio communication was kept.
On June 17 NATO fighter aircraft were scrambled to identify and escort two SU-24 as well. The aircraft were flying out of and back to Kaliningrad, through international airspace. Their onboard transponders were not switched on, the crews had no pre-filed plans, nor were maintaining radio communication.
On June 18 the NATO air policing fighter aircraft were alerted in response to a TU-214 flying through international airspace from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. Its onboard transponder was on, the crew was maintaining radio commination and had a pre-filed flight plan. Also, two SU-27 were intercepted: flying from and back to Kaliningrad into international airspace, their onboard transponders were off, the crews had no flight plans and were not maintaining radio communication. Two SU-30 were identified as well. Their were flying from and back to mainland Russia via international airspace with their onboard transponders off, no flight plans, and no radio communication.

On June 20 NATO fighter jets were scrambled to intercept one IL-20 heading for mainland Russia from Kaliningrad. Its onboard transponders was switched off, the crew had no flight plan, but maintained radio communication with the regional air traffic control.
