A member of the Hezbollah resistance movement has been killed in a new Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon, in the latest violation of a fragile ceasefire agreement with the Arab country.

Security sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the victim as Mohammad Ali Srour who hailed from the village of Aita al-Shaab in the central sector of southern Lebanon.

He was traveling in a car along a road heading to Debel village in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh Governorate on Sunday evening, when the strike targeted him.

Earlier in the day, Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli drone strike had targeted a motorcycle on the road to Arnoun, killing one person.

A Lebanese security source identified the victim as Ahmad Qatbi, a Hezbollah member from the village of Arnoun.

Additionally, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed in a statement that a civilian was injured in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the village of Bayt Lif.

Since the commencement of the ceasefire in late November 2024, Israeli occupation forces have been launching assaults on Lebanon, including airstrikes throughout the Arab nation, breaching the agreement.

On January 27, 2025, Lebanon announced its decision to extend the ceasefire with Israel until February 18.

Although the deadline of February 18 has passed, Israel continues to maintain its occupation of five significant regions in southern Lebanon, namely Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, all situated near the border.

Lebanon has condemned the continued presence of Israeli military forces, viewing it as a violation of the ceasefire agreement and the established timeline for withdrawal. Senior officials in Beirut have expressed their commitment to take "all necessary measures" to remove the occupying troops from the nation.
