US defense chief speaks at Shangri-La Dialogue; foreign media pay attention to whether he interacts with members of National Defense University delegation

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made his first appearance at the first plenary session of the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue and delivered a speech during session.
In his speech, Hegseth mentioned China multiple times. After the meeting, reporters of some foreign media outlets approached Zhang Chi, a member of China's National Defense University delegation, asking how he would evaluate Hegseth's remarks. Meanwhile, some reporters asked Hegseth whether he would interact with representatives from China. Hegseth did not respond to this.
Previously, Chinese Ministry of Defense spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang stated that a delegation from the National Defense University of the People's Liberation Army would attend the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.
