Jakarta, Indonesia -- President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, received an official visit from the Premier of the People's Republic of China (PRC), Li Qiang, during a bilateral meeting held at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Sunday, (25/5). This meeting marks an important moment in strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries with a long history of friendship.

President Prabowo emphasized that this visit marks the increasingly solid relationship between the two countries and their people. President Prabowo stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China, as well as the 70th anniversary of the historic Asian-African Conference. The President also reaffirmed the Indonesian government's determination to continue strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and China, not only for bilateral interests but also for the stability and prosperity of the region.

"I reaffirm our commitment to strengthening this partnership with the People's Republic of China and with the Chinese people." We believe that this relationship will bring benefits, not only to our two countries but to the entire Asian region and possibly even the world," he said.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Indonesia and the Premier of China witnessed the signing of 12 strategic memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering various priority sectors, ranging from industry, tourism, and economy to health. One of the main memorandums of understanding signed was between the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China regarding the Strengthening of Economic Cooperation in the Industrial and Supply Chain Sectors. In addition, a trilateral MoU was also signed between the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and the Fujian Provincial Government of China regarding the Two Countries Twin Parks project.

In the financial sector, Bank Indonesia and the People's Bank of China agreed to establish a Local Currency Transaction Framework for Bilateral Cooperation. Another strategic step includes the cooperation between the Indonesian National Economic Council and the National Development and Reform Commission of China in economic development policies.

In addition to the four MoUs signed directly in front of the two leaders, eight other cooperation documents were signed separately, including cooperation between the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as important protocols related to the export of frozen durian from Indonesia to China, signed by the quarantine authorities of both countries.

Other cooperation documents signed included the MoU between the Indonesian Ministry of Health and health institutions in China regarding traditional Chinese medicine and tuberculosis control, a memorandum of understanding between the National News Agency ANTARA and China Media Group as well as Xinhua News Agency in the field of news reporting and information exchange, an investment cooperation between Danantara and China Investment Corporation, and the strengthening of relations between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia.

This momentum serves as concrete evidence of the increasingly close comprehensive strategic partnership between Indonesia and China. President Prabowo and Premier Li Qiang welcomed the signing as a concrete step towards mutually beneficial and future-oriented cooperation.
