Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Receives the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, received His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, at his residence in the Russian capital, Moscow, on Friday, May 9th, 2025, on the sidelines of their attendance at the Russian Federation's commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism.
During this meeting, the Palestinian President briefed the Secretary-General on the developments in the Palestinian cause, the challenges it faces, and the efforts being made to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Al-Quds, and to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, foremost among which is the establishment of their independent state. He praised the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the importance of a unified position.
For his part, the Secretary-General reiterated the OIC's firm position in support of the Palestinian cause as the organization's central cause, and the need to intensify efforts to mobilize the international community's responsibility to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, including their right to establish an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
