
Mobile Training Team conducts air operations course in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan -- NATO's Allied Air Command Mobile Training Team conducted a course on "Planning and Conducting Air Operations" for Azerbaijani Air Force personnel in Baku, 1 May 2025.
The course, held under the 2025 Individual Partnership Cooperation Programme between NATO and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defence, aimed to enhance participants' understanding of NATO airspace control procedures, self-evaluation (SEL), and NATO evaluation (NEL) standards within the Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC).
Throughout the training, attendees engaged in both theoretical instruction and practical group exercises designed to strengthen their operational planning skills. The programme concluded with briefings on completed tasks and the awarding of certificates to participants.
Partnerships are critical to NATO's mission of preserving peace and ensuring collective defence. By working alongside partner nations, the Alliance enhances interoperability, fosters mutual understanding and strengthens its ability to respond to evolving security challenges. Such cooperation broadens the Alliance's strategic reach and supports the maintenance of a rules-based international order.
