Tehran, IRNA -- Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi says that there is no military solution to the current crisis in Yemen.

Takht-e-Ravanchi said in a post on his X page on Saturday that he had met with Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, in Tehran to discuss the dangerous situation in Yemen.

"The continuous U.S. heavy attacks against Yemen resulting in injuries and martyrdom of many civilians and the destruction of Yemen's infrastructures must stop," he wrote.

"There is no military solution to the current crisis in this country," the senior diplomat said.

Takht-e-Ravanchi further said that all efforts should be made to strengthen the ceasefire and implement the roadmap agreed upon before. "Iran is supportive of such endeavors," he added.

U.S. warplanes hit Yemen's Sa'ada Governorate

Meanwhile, Yemeni media reported on Saturday that seven U.S. airstrikes targeted the country's northern Sa'ada Governorate.

"An American aggression targeted the east of Sa'ada city with three airstrikes, and the Al Salem district with four more," Al-Masirah TV reported.

The attacks came a day after American warplanes bombed the Yemeni regions of Sana'a, Sa'ada, Amran, Marib, Al-Jawf, and Al-Hudaydah 72 times.

Yemen says the U.S. airstrikes on its soil are another measure by Washington to support the Israeli regime in its genocidal war on Gaza.
