Published 19 February 2025
On Wednesday 19 February, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard received Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys.
"I have had a very good meeting with my Lithuanian colleague Kęstutis Budrys. Close Nordic-Baltic cooperation is more important than ever. Our support to Ukraine is steadfast. Together, the Nordic-Baltic countries are the second-largest bilateral donors to Ukraine globally," says Ms Malmer Stenergard.
The subjects discussed at the meeting included Sweden's and Lithuania's continued support to Ukraine, transatlantic relations and the informal foreign and security policy cooperation format NB8.
Mr Budrys is the newly appointed foreign minister of the Lithuanian coalition government that took office in December 2024. The meeting in Stockholm was the first bilateral meeting between Ms Malmer Stenergard and Mr Budrys.
