Cairo, February 01, 2025, SPA -- The Arab Six-Party Consultative Meeting in Cairo today welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of hostages and detainees, underscoring the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, ensuring humanitarian support reaches all parts of the Gaza Strip, and removing all obstacles to the entry of humanitarian and recovery aid.

The meeting issued the following statement:

At the invitation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, a foreign ministers' meeting was held in Cairo today, February 1, 2025, with the participation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as the secretary-general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the secretary-general of the League of Arab States.

The participating parties agreed on the following points:

1. They welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of hostages and detainees, commending the efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar. They emphasized the significant role of the United States in achieving this agreement and expressed a desire to work with President Donald J. Trump's administration toward a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East based on the two-state solution.

2. They affirmed support for the efforts made by the three countries to ensure the implementation of the agreement in all its stages and provisions until reaching complete calm, while emphasizing the importance of sustaining the ceasefire. This should enable humanitarian support to reach all areas of Gaza and facilitate the removal of obstacles to the safe delivery of humanitarian, shelter, and recovery aid. They called for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli forces, rejecting any attempts to divide the Gaza Strip, and allowing the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities in Gaza alongside the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

3. They emphasized the pivotal role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and categorically rejected any attempts to bypass or restrict its functions.

4. They stressed the need for the international community to coordinate efforts to plan and implement a comprehensive reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, ensuring that Palestinians remain on their land by improving their daily lives while addressing internal displacement issues.

5. They expressed continued support for the Palestinian people's steadfastness and legitimate rights under international law, rejecting any infringements upon these rights through settlements, expulsions, demolitions, land annexations, or displacements that threaten stability and provoke further conflict.

6. They welcomed Egypt's plan, in cooperation with the United Nations, to host an international conference for the reconstruction of Gaza at the appropriate time, urging the international community and donors to support this initiative.

7. They called on the international community, especially international and regional powers along with the United Nations Security Council, to begin the implementation of the two-state solution to address the root causes of tension in the Middle East, ultimately establishing a Palestinian state on its entire national soil in the context of a unified Gaza and West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with international resolutions and the borders of June 4, 1967. They supported the efforts of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and the active participation in the international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, scheduled in June 2025.
