Statement on the situation in Democratic Republic of the Congo

Norway condemns the recent offensives by the M23, supported by Rwanda, in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The sovereignty and territorial integrity of the DRC must be respected, in line with the UN Charter.
Norway follows the situation with deep concern, in particular with regard to the safety and welfare of the civilian population.
