
AFP completes resupply mission for BRP Sierra Madre

MANILA -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced Friday that it completed a troop rotation and resupply (RORE) mission for troops manning the BRP Sierra Madre (LS-57) in Ayungin Shoal at the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
AFP public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad said the RORE was done in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
"The AFP, together with the PCG, will continue to provide full support to our personnel, ensuring that they are equipped, cared for, and prepared to fulfill their duties in defending our national interests, especially in the WPS," he said in a statement.
The photo provided by the AFP indicated that the M/V Lapu-Lapu was used for the RORE mission.
The last RORE for the nine Philippine-held features in the WPS took place Dec. 3 to 14. 2024.
No untoward incidents took place during those missions. (PNA)
