17 December, Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys had a phone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, Espen Barth Eide. During the conversation, the ministers discussed bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Norway, regional security and defence issues, and support for Ukraine facing Russian aggression.

"Norway is a reliable partner of Lithuania; we are members of the Nordic-Baltic family and NATO allies. We thank you for your contribution to the security of Lithuania and the entire Baltic Sea region by deploying troops in the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) battalion battle group in Rukla. It is important to remain united, continue strengthening our defence capabilities, and support Ukraine until victory," said Minister Budrys.

The head of Lithuanian diplomacy also emphasized that Lithuania is interested in strengthening cooperation with Norway in the areas of defence, energy security, protection of critical infrastructure, and the economy.
