Landsbergis: "There can be no place left for terrorism in the world and Lithuania"

One year after Hamas' terrorist rampage in Israel, Lithuania's Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis says that there is no place in the world for terrorism, while anti-Semitism cannot be tolerated, neither in Lithuania nor in other countries.
"As today marks one year since the tragic Hamas attack on Israeli citizens, we must remember that any violence against and hatred of peaceful citizens is unacceptable. Anti-Semitism, like any other form of hatred, cannot be tolerated. We must develop tolerance, understanding, and respect between the cultures and peoples to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. Both in the world and in Lithuania, there can be no room left for terrorism and anti-Semitism," said Landsbergis.
Monday marks one year since the terrorist attack launched by the Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas on Israel, which killed 1139 Israeli civilians and abducted 251 hostages, out of which 97 hostages or their remains are still in the hands of terrorists.
Lithuania repeatedly expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and stands in solidarity with the hostages, the injured and members of their families. We support the efforts of the international community towards a ceasefire and the release of hostages, and we call for compliance with international humanitarian law.
