CSTO Joint Staff hosts first talks on preparations for joint exercises with collective forces

From 9 to 11 April 2024, the CSTO Joint Staff hosted the first headquarters talks on the joint exercises involving the CSTO Troops (Collective Force), scheduled to be held in 2024.

The talks, chaired by Lieutenant General Hasan Kaloev, First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, were attended by representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the CSTO Secretariat and Joint Staff.

During the talks, the basics of joint exercises, the composition of command bodies and troops involved in the exercises, the organisation of leadership as well as comprehensive support were reviewed and discussed.

In 2024, the main activities of joint operational and combat training are to include:

in the Kyrgyz Republic - Interaction 2024, a command post exercise with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force; Search 2024, a special exercise with reconnaissance units, Echelon 2024, a special exercise with combat service support forces of the CSTO;

in the Republic of Kazakhstan - Unbreakable Brotherhood 2024, a CSTO peacekeeping force;

in the Republic of Tajikistan - an operational gathering with the Command of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region and the Rubezh 2024 joint exercise with the units of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces in the Central Asian Region.

Joint operational and combat training activities will be carried out in accordance with the Plan approved by the CSTO Council of Defence Ministers and the CSTO Committee of Security Councils in order to maintain the CSTO Troops (Collective Force) readiness to jointly carry out tasks for its intended purpose.
