It stated in its statement that while Hamas was keen to reach an agreement that would put an end to the aggression, Israeli position remains obstinate, failing to respond to any of the demands made by our people and our resistance.

Tehran -ISNA- Likewise, Hamas stated that, despite Israeli obstinacy, the movement's leadership "is carefully reviewing the proposal with full national responsibility and will notify the mediators of its response once this process is completed."

Israeli Channel 12 reported on Monday that the Israeli delegation to Cairo, led by Mossad chief David Barnea, was heading back to the occupation.

According to the news outlet, negotiators discussed on Sunday a US-brokered proposal embraced by mediators, including the head of the CIA. Israel reportedly said it was a serious proposal and has yet to respond to it.

Hamas's delegation to Cairo had confirmed, during a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, the movement's adherence to its national demands in the ceasefire negotiations.

On Saturday, Hamas announced that a high-level delegation from the movement, led by Khalil al-Hayya, would head to Cairo in response to an Egyptian invitation for ceasefire negotiations.

Egyptian sources described as "high-level" revealed to Al Qahera News that the last hours witnessed intensive communications from the Egyptian side in Cairo to resume the negotiations.
