The Iraqi Resistance in Iraq confirmed that its fighters targeted early Tuesday the Israeli "Tel Nof" Airbase in the occupied Palestinian territories using drones.

Tehran -ISNA- The Iraqi Resistance said in a statement that the attack comes in continuation of its path in resisting the occupation, in support of the people in Gaza, and in response to the Israeli massacres against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.

The Islamic Resistance affirmed its continuation in "striking the enemy's strongholds."

On Monday, the Resistance announced that its fighters attacked a vital Israeli target in the occupied Palestinian territories with appropriate weapons.

Simultaneously, Israeli media reported that a fire broke out after sirens sounded in "Eilat" due to a rocket, drone, or interceptor missile attack, adding that firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene.

The media also mentioned that "unidentified projectiles" landed in "Eilat", resulting in damage to several locations. They added that a drone attacked a military base, suggesting that the operation originated from Iraq and not from Yemen.

Israeli media outlets described the incident of the drone targeting "Eilat" early Monday as "the most serious" since the start of the war, emphasizing that it was an "unusual" occurrence.

The media added that the details revealed so far indicate that the "hostile" drone flew from Iraq, through Jordan, and reached "Eilat", where it exploded near a building.

Israeli media expressed surprise and disappointment over the drone's successful penetration of occupation airspace and precise targeting, emphasizing that such an outcome was not anticipated.

It also highlighted that the recent drone attack on "Eilat" marks the second instance of a drone penetrating from the direction of Jordan and detonating in the area.
