Tehran, IRNA -- The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has issued a statement, claiming that their forces hit certain targets in Yemen and the Red Sea.

According to Al Jazeera, CENTCOM claimed they targeted anti-ship cruise missiles and one mobile anti-ship ballistic missile launcher, and that they also shot down a suicide drone on Wednesday.

Some news sources also reported on Wednesday evening that the US and Britain targeted certain areas in Yemen.

Yemen's Al-Masirah TV channel reported that the US and the UK conducted three strikes on the Arab country's soil. It said that Ras Isa port town near Hudaydah city in western Yemen was targeted in the new round of strikes.

The US-UK coalition has targeted various regions in Yemen over the past weeks with the aim of putting pressure on the Yemeni armed forces to stop their naval blockade of Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

However, the Yemeni armed forces vowed to continue their maritime operations until the end of the Zionist regime's genocidal war on Gaza and its siege of the strip.
