Tehran, IRNA -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has described a decision by the United Sates to veto for a third time a draft United Nations Security Council resolution to impose a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza as the diplomatic catastrophe of the century.
In a message on his page on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Amirabdollahian said that the US will be responsible for the continued genocide of the Palestinians by the Zionist regime because of its repeated vetoing of a UNSC resolution on Gaza.
"The world must hold the US accountable," he said in the message in Farsi.
Washington vetoed the UNSC resolution drafted by Algeria on Tuesday. The measure was supported by 13 out of 15 UNSC members while Britain abstained.
