Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met and talked with Ismail Haniyeh head of the political bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas in Doha.

Tehran-ISNA- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met and talked with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas, in Doha.

At the commencement of the meeting, the top Iranian diplomat conveyed the greetings of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Iran's President to Haniyeh and, through him, to the resistant nation of Palestine.

Glorifying the heroic and honorable resistance of the Palestinian people against more than 4 months of barbaric attacks and war crimes by the Zionists, Amirabdollahian said: "Despite the heavy human and financial losses and extensive destruction in Gaza and the West Bank, the dimensions of the brilliant victory of the nation and the currents of Palestinian resistance are becoming more obvious day by day."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran pointed out that the Zionist regime and the United States, sought the destruction of Hamas as one of their main goals since the beginning of the war against Gaza, but have now come to recognize Hamas as a party to political negotiations and admit its irreplaceable role and position.

Amirabdollahian also praised the brave support of the resistance groups in the region, the political support of many governments, as well as the spiritual backing of the majority of nations of the world for the Palestinian nation, and the globalization of hatred against the Zionist regime and its supporters.

He said: "Thanks to the oppressed but powerful stance of the Palestinian nation, today the Palestinian issue has been placed at the top of the world's important issues; and, the righteousness of and oppression faced by the Palestinian nation are widely recognized worldwide, both by governments and nations."

Referring to the diplomatic and international endeavors of the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of the resistance and the Palestinian nation during the past 4 months, Amirabdollahian said: "Our opinion from the political and international scene is that Americans and Westerners have come to the conclusion that the Israeli regime, despite the huge massacre of people and its unprecedented crimes, has not won and will not win this war. Therefore, everyone agrees that they should consider a ceasefire, but they are looking for bargaining and trying to score points regarding the type of the ceasefire."

Referring to the double standards and contradictory approach of the United States vis-à-vis the Gaza crisis, Iran's top diplomat said: "On the one hand, the United States claims that it does not seek to expand the scope of the war in the region, and on the other, it has not slowed down its political, military, and diplomatic support for the Zionist regime. At the same time as attacking Yemen and taking military actions in Iraq and Syria, the U.S. has committed a strategic mistake and is fueling the danger of the spread of war in the region."

During the meeting, he also presented a report on the latest diplomatic moves of the Islamic Republic of Iran to end the war on Gaza, bring a halt to the blockade, and send humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Amirabdollahian added: "The Islamic Republic emphasizes a Palestinian-Palestinian decision and solution for managing Palestinian affairs in the post-war phase, and believes that the international community should support this solution."

He further emphasized the continuation of diplomatic and all-round efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestinian nation.

For his part, Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas, conveyed warm greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the President, the Government, and the nation of Iran, as well as congratulations on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

He expressed gratitude and appreciation for the strong support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Palestinian nation and resistance.

Haniyeh praised the diplomatic and political efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to end the war and crimes against Gaza and the Palestinian people, adding: "We continuously follow Iran's endeavors, including those of the Supreme Leader, the President, and the Foreign Minister, as well as the Government and the people of Iran in supporting Palestine."

He emphasized that despite more than 4 months of war and crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, the Zionist regime has not achieved any of its declared objectives.

He added: "Palestinian resistance forces are fighting alongside each other and together with the Palestinian nation against the Zionist regime. And despite the severity and difficulty of the situation, we assure that the resistance will maintain its strength and the necessary ability to manage the war strategically."

Haniyeh noted: "Notwithstanding the widespread human and material losses and the martyrdom of thousands of Palestinian citizens, the losses inflicted on the resistance in the field of military capabilities and resistance forces are very limited compared to the size of this battle. On the other hand, the losses incurred by the Zionist regime army are unprecedented."

Referring to the barbarity of the Zionist regime, Haniyeh warned against the regime's threat to attack Rafah due to the presence of more than 1.3 million Palestinian refugees in this area and added: "Unfortunately, the United States has shown that it stands by the Zionist regime in this regard, as in the past, and has no motivation to prevent the regime's actions."
He emphasized the approach of Hamas and the resistance groups to continue the political path in parallel with the resistance on the battle field to end the war against Gaza.

Touching upon the political measures undertaken, he stated: "As far as the fundamental demands of the Palestinian people are concerned, we will never back down."
