On February 6 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas had a meeting with Her Majesty's Ambassador in Lithuania HE Brian Olley to discuss the agreement Baltic Defence Ministers had signed in January on enhancing mutual countermobility measures.

"Lithuania was already implementing countermobility projects well before the decision to form a mutual Baltic defence line was adopted. The newly agreed Baltic defence line will ensure a unified approach, while each member will fit their contribution to the concrete circumstances," said A. Anušauskas.

The Baltic states have agreed to form an effective corpus of countermobility measures based on their national needs, the United Kingdom is directly affected by the decision as the framework nation of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group in Estonia (together with Germany in Lithuania and Canada in Latvia).

A. Anušauskas also briefed Ambassador about the planned reform in mobilization system which will recruit the youth immediately after school graduation and students.

Other topics discussed with B. Olley were the assistance to Ukraine and the demining coalition for Ukraine assembled by Lithuania.
