Tehran (ISNA) - In a second official letter to Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations since the beginning of the war on Gaza, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian described the deliberate destruction of urban and administrative infrastructure, hospitals, and educational centers as a terrible prospect for the international community in the 21st century.
Amir-Abdollahian stated that the ground invasion of the Zionist regime and the inaction of the international community to stop it could be the basis for a potential genocide.
In the letter, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for the international community to be mobilized to prevent another tragedy and calamity.
Amir-Abdollahian described the actions of the Zionist regime during the recent attacks on the Gaza Strip as 'war crimes.' He pointed out that the regime has violated more than 30 resolutions of the United Nations Security Council or has been the subject of them. The Minister drew the Secretary-General's attention to clear cases of flagrant violations of the principles and rules of international law and international humanitarian law during the 75 years of Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs urged Guterres to condemn the actions of the Zionist regime violating international law and take necessary measures to immediately and unconditionally end the aggression, lift the blockade of Gaza, and ensure free access for people to international humanitarian aid.
