Defence Minister Martin Sklenár received the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Slovakia, His Excellency Pribadi Sutiono, at the Slovak Defence Ministry in Bratislava today. They discussed deepening the SVK-IDN relationship and confirmed their intent by signing the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between the countries as a framework for developing this partnership.
In his statement on the SVK-IDN Defence Cooperation Agreement, Defence Minister Martin Sklenár said: "This is a standard agreement between the countries with a quality bilateral relationship and an interest in strengthening them. It will expand our cooperation options on defence policy, armed forces development, education, training and exercises, cyber defence, and the defence industry."
As new industry opportunities may arise, the Slovak defence industry offers cooperation to Indonesia's defence firms that are well established on the market. In addition to military hardware such as field artillery (FA) systems, demining unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and munitions, Slovak defence firms are capable of delivering high quality military software in the form of simulators, communications systems, air traffic control systems, etc.
Defence Minister Martin Sklenár concluded: "For Slovakia, Indonesia is a prospective partner on cooperation in the Southeast Asia region. I believe this will bring a lot of good to our countries in the future."
