The President and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom discussed security situation in the region

During the Vilnius NATO Summit, President Gitanas Nausėda met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak.
The President and the Prime Minister discussed the security situation in the region, Belarus' influence on the instability of the situation, and thanked the United Kingdom for its leadership of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF).
"The United Kingdom is one of Lithuania's main strategic security and defense partners, both in NATO's northern flank and in the Baltic Sea region," Gitanas Nausėda spoke during the meeting.
The meeting also discussed support for Ukraine. The Lithuanian leader stressed that the European Union and the United Kingdom need to strengthen cooperation in the strategic areas of support for Ukraine, and security, foreign policy and defense.
